Most notably, she was involved in the discovery of Januvia, the first DPP-IV inhibitor approved for the treatment of diabetes.  Her work has led to seventeen issued US patents and over thirty peer reviewed publications. She held a NATO Postdoctoral Fellowship, and has received Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award frm the R&D Council of NJ (2007), the Prix Galien USA for Januvia (20070) and an  SCI Goron E. Moore Medal for Innovation (2009).  She is a member of ACS.

She joined Johnson and Johnson within the Finance Division in August 1988, moving to Senior Accountant/Senior Business Analyst in 1992. In 1994 she joined the Supply Chain Division as Team Leader and was promoted the following year to Manager, Customer Service Call Center. In 1997, Kim joined Contract Administration as Manager, Group Purchasing Organization and Long Term Care Payments, and was promoted to Director, Contract Management in 1999. Her accomplishments in this role included the successful implementation of the systems and infrastructure required to support the full range of offer development and contracting processes managed at HCS. In 2000 as the HCS Director, Marketing & Account Management Kim had managed the National Contracting Council (NCC) requirements for a consistent customer approach. Kim then went on to join Ortho Biotech (OBI) working in the Contracting team. As the Group Director of Contracting she was responsible for the management of the Contracting team and leading the implementation of the Contracting Strategies for OBI. Kim’s role then expanded to include the development of contracting strategies for physicians, hospitals, managed care organizations, specialty pharmacy and government agencies as well as management of the Contract Pricing Committee. Kim went on to the role of Senior Director, Reimbursement continuing to develop her expertise within the Pricing and Reimbursement arenas and most recently her role as Senior Director, Access Services where she is responsible for improving patient access to care by providing reimbursement support services and resources regarding financial assistance for patients to patients, caregivers and providers.In recognition of these accomplishments over the years, Kim has been received several Johnson & Johnson Standards of Leadership awards as well as the President’s Award in 1992. In 1996 and 1998, she received the Chairman’s Award. At OBI, she received both the Strategic Customer Group Vice President’s Award in 2003 and in 2005, as well as a 2007 Astrum Award. She has been a Councilwoman for the Borough of Somerville for three separate terms.
