John Esposito is President and CEO of Bacardi U.S.A., Inc. and Bacardi North America, a region which includes the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. He joined Bacardi in May of 2006. Under Mr. Esposito’s leadership, Bacardi has established a vision to become the number one value creating premium spirits company in the industry.
Bacardi’s portfolio features some of the world’s favorite products including Bacardi rum, Grey Goose vodka, Bombay Sapphire gin, Dewar’s Scotch whisky, Martini and Rossi vermouth, asti and prosecco, Cazadores blue agave tequila and new and emerging brands such Corzo tequila and 42Below vodka among others.
Mr. Esposito has an outstanding reputation and background of more than 25 years in the spirits and wine industry. Before Bacardi, he was President and CEO of Moet Hennessy USA, a leading wine and spirits importer in the United States. He has also held a number of other key positions including President and CEO of Shieffelin & Somerset, President of Premier Beverage Co. of Florida, Vice President and Director of Sales for W.A. Taylor & Co., and Vice President, National Sales Manager, Seagram Wine Co. In October 2009, he was given the ‘Industry Executive of the Year’ award by the Market Watch Leaders, representing over 200 prominent retailers across the US.
Mr. Esposito earned a bachelor’s degree in business from New York’s Manhattan College and is a graduate of the Harvard University Advanced Management Program for Senior Managers. Always active in charity fundraising throughout his career, he has been honored as “Man of the Year” by The Boy Scouts of America and the United Jewish Appeal, and the industry’s American Cancer Society’s Dr. Louis Berger Memorial Award. In 2002 he received a Doctor of Laws Degree from Medgar Evers College for his work in supporting education. He is currently a board member of the Wolfsonian Museum—Florida International University and the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Foundation.
